" DC Hornet Robotics Vex Team #93129D Fightin' Hornets Are Region 8 ESC Last Chance Spin Up Tournament Champions"
After a long season that began in October in VEX Robotics Competitions, on Tuesday, Feb. 7th., the Dodd City High School Robotics teams journeyed to the TEA Region 8 Education Service Center at Mt Pleasant, TX to compete in the Region 8 Last Chance VRC Spin Up Tournament. The day started out a little rough for all three Hornet Robotics Teams, but after lunchtime, things started to really turn around! By the end of the day Team Stingerettes, Team Fightin' Hornets, and Team Happy Hornets had all turned things around and ended up in the Tournament Playoffs with the Fightin' Hornets coming out as Tournament Champions with their alliance partner from New Diana ISD!!!! This qualifies Team #93129D Fightin' Hornets for the Texas Region 2 VRC State Tournament in Southlake- Carroll on March 4th!!! There are currently over 500 teams in Region 2, and they will be competing with the best 51 other teams who have qualified. Please congratulate all of these students for their awesome effort this year in Hornet Robotics, and give a special "Congrats" to Team #93129D Fightin' Hornets!
