VEXIQ Robotics Tournament

"On Sat. Jan. 28th., three middle school teams representing the DC Hornet Robotics Program competed in their first-ever VEXIQ Robotics Tournament hosted at Anna High School by Anna ISD.  Their hard work for the last several months was exhibited at the day-long tournament.  The team members included:

Team #94362A-  The U Thangs- Paisley Garcia, Kennedy McDonald, & Kasey Knight

Placings- Teamwork: 18th. out of 34, Skills:  9th. out of 26

Team #94362B-  DC Robodillas- Ada Melson, Julianne Busby, & Gracelyn Williams

Placings- Teamwork: 29th. out of 34, Skills: 15th. out of 26

Team #94362C-  DC Fireflies- Summer Clark, Paige Clark, and Emma 

Placings- Teamwork: 16ht. out of 34, Skills: 7th. out of 26

These were very good results for their first-ever VEX IQ Tournaments, overall according to Mr. Melson.  The teams would like to express their thanks to the DC Administration and Parents for supporting their teams.  They would also like to extend special gratitude to the Dodd City PTO, the Texas Retired Teachers Association, and Ruiz Foods for their grants that helped purchase toolboxes and the VEX IQ robotics equipment for their teams!!!"
