Dodd City, Texas -- Dodd City's Layton Vaught blasted a shot off the center field wall in the second inning that scored three runs and then in the fifth inning he hit a grand slam over the left field wall to end the night with 7 RBI’s to lead his Hornets to a five-run win over the Sam Rayburn Rebels.

Alex Helms and Nick Glover each drove in one run as Dodd City moved to 13-3 on the year and 10-3 in district.

Logan Lackey scatted six hit over five innings to get the win. Aydan Balvin held the Rebels hitless in the final two innings to earn the save.

The Hornets will travel to Ivanhoe on Friday, April 28 for Senior Night at Sam Rayburn. The gave is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m
