No. 4 Dodd City Lady Hornets sweep Gainesville

Gainesville, Texas -- Another Class 3A volleyball program felt the sting of the Dodd City Lady Hornets Tuesday night when Dodd City put away the Gainesville Lady Leopards in straight sets.

All three sets were competitive, with the Lady Hornets prevailing 25-20, 25-19 and 25-20 to earn a sweep on the road.

Kadyn McCarley crushed 10 kills to lead the Dodd City attack, but all the Lady Hornets played important roles in the win.

Addison Weeks slammed down six kills in addition to the sophomore's four aces.

Hannah Burney was close behind with five kills and a pair of aces.

Addyson Chaney had with three kills to go along with a team-high four digs.

Taegan Williams finished with four aces, one block and one kill.

Weeks doled out 10 assists and Chaney had four assists.

Breezy Jenkins had one ace and one dig.

Emma Garner also came up with a dig.

The Lady Hornets, ranked No. 4 in this week's TGCA poll, improve to 16-3 on the year.

Dodd City will host Trenton on Friday in a match scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
