Class 1A Dodd City on May 10 assured its seventh trip at least to the softball regional finals in the last eight complete seasons.

Down a game, the Lady Hornets defeated district-rival Ector twice on the day -- 9-7 and 11-5 -- to rally to win a two-day Region II-1A semifinal best-of-three softball series in Bonham.

The series win earned Dodd City a Region II-1A final round meeting with Jonesboro, which had coaches present at the May 10 doubleheader. Jonesboro defeated Blum, 21-2, in another regional semifinal.

In the area round, the Lady Hornets run-ruled Knox City, 14-0, in five innings on May 1 at Wichita Falls City View High School in a one-game round.

Dodd City began its 2025 softball postseason with an 11-5 win over Saltillo at Cooper High School in a one-game bi-district round on April 23.

The Lady Hornets qualified for the playoffs -- where they have been every year, starting in 2017 -- as District 11-2A's No. 2 seed.
