Dodd City Lady Hornets fall to Jonesboro in extra innings

Weatherford, Texas -- In an eight-inning thriller, the Jonesboro Lady Eagles slipped by the Dodd City Lady Hornets, 8-7, in the regional finals.

Jonesboro took a 5-0 lead into the fifth frame only to watch the Dodd City bats come alive with five runs in the bottom half of the inning.

The score was tied, 6-6, after six innings and tied at 7-7 after seven innings.

Jonesboro managed to score a run in the top of the eighth and then hold Dodd City scoreless in the bottom of the eighth to eke out an 8-7 victory in the regional finals.

Gracyn Shindler, Kelsey Hewitt, Kailen Kavanaugh and Ralyn Daniel all had one hit apiece for Dodd City. Kavanaugh drove in a pair of runs, with Sierra Garcia and Daniel finishing with one RBI.
