No. 17 Dodd City Lady Hornets sweep Ector

Ector, Texas -- The Dodd City Lady Hornets wrapped up an undefeated district campaign and moved to 21-13 on the season with a three-set win over the Ector Lady Eagles.

The first set was a thriller, with the teams battling to a 28-28 tie before Dodd City collected the final two points for a 30-28 victory.

The Lady Hornets kept the momentum to post wins of 25-19 and 25-21 to earn a sweep on the road.

Dodd City senior Addison Weeks knocked down 24 kills in her final district match. Sophomore Gracyn Shindler also turned in impressive numbers with 18 kills.

Kodi Dorau put down three kills and Kaleigh McBrayer had one kill.

Weeks dished out a dozen assists, Shindler had 11 assists, McBrayer and Adisen White each handed out seven assists, Kenzi Freeman had three assists and Dorau doled out two assists.

Freeman came up with a team-high 28 digs, Shindler finished with 15 digs, Weeks had 10 digs, McBrayer, Kendyl Lindsey and Kennedy Chaney all got under eight assists and White had two assists.

Dorau led the Lady Hornets at the service line with two aces and Weeks had a team-high two blocks.
