Dodd City Lady Hornets sweep Neches in regional quarterfinals

The Lady Hornets overpowered Neches 25-9 in the opener and then followed up with wins of 25-17 and 25-19 for the sweep over a top-10 program.

Dodd City senior Addison Weeks finished with a match-high 14 kills, Gracyn Shindler put down eight kills, Kodi Dorau dropped in five kills and Kaleigh McBrayer had one kills.

Adisen White dished out eight assists, followed by McBrayer (7), Shindler (5), Weeks (4), Dorau (2), Kenzi Freeman (1) and Kennedy Chaney (1).

Shindler came up with a team-high 10 digs.

White led Dodd City at the service line with seven aces.

The Lady Hornets (24-13) take a step deeper into the playoffs as Dodd City advances to take on Blum in the regional semifinals. The match is set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 11 at Kaufman High School.
